30%. THAT is the survival rate for cardiac arrest in the US in males age 14-35. Yet - we’ve seen several high profile athletes go into cardiac arrest and make full recovery - HOW? IMMEDIATE CPR and AED use.
Which is why (since the rest of us don’t have athletic trainers following our every move), it’s IMPERATIVE that each of us know how to perform CPR and use an AED. I made this quick video to de-mystify the AED – literally the only thing you need to remember, is to turn it on – it walks you though everything!
steps:
(1) Call 911
(2) PUMP (start CPR)
(3) aed
That is it. You can do this. We can ALL do this – because every single human deserves the chance.
Since I’ve heard many stories of people trying to “Google” how to do CPR or react to emergencies in the moment, only to find misinformation or be blocked by having to watch ads, I’ve created “Quick Guide” to save in your phone- you can. save in your contacts, notes, images, or as a file- so you ALWAYS have this information at your fingertips in an emergency. Click here to signup for them.
Since posting this video on Instagram, many have asked mw how to buy an AED- so, given their pice tag, I have partnered with Heartsmart and they are giving a 12% discount off a purchase with the code DRDARRIA. Click here to check out their AEDs.
